Simple Tips For How To Do Nail Art

One simple tip that most people doing their own nail art at home is that you can dry your nails quicker by dipping them in ice water for a total of three minutes.

Fishnet designs don't have to be time consuming! You can get the same look by taping a layer of loofa fabric or other mesh fabric onto your nails and then painting them.

Creating your own nail tools when you can to save time and money. For example, you can create a dotting tool at home with things laying around the house. Find a wooden pencil with an eraser that hasn't been used. Push the needle point of a pushpin into the eraser and voila. You can use the rounded ball of the pin as a dotting tool.

Mistakes happen. You can erase smudges on your fingers from polish by dipping a paintbrush or q-tip into nail polish remover and running them over the polish you want removed.

Applying several thin coats of polish instead of one thick coat will allow your nails to dry faster as well as prevent lumping.

Did you know that you can use Vaseline around your cuticles to prevent mistakes? Simple round it around on the outside of your cuticle (be sure not to get any on your nail bed) to act as a barrier between your skin and the polish.

If you are in the market for a new french manicure, but don't feel like making an appointment or paying salon prices, you can get the same look at home with a band aid! Apply the rounded end of a band aid to your nail letting a section of  edge of the nail show. Paint the exposed section of the nail for the perfect french manicure.

Did you know if it humid outside, that it will take longer for your nail polish to dry? See the tip above about drying your nails in ice water for a quick dry fix.

You can create designs such as thin or thick stripes, triangles and squares using scotch tape. Get creative. Aztec prints are in style now right?

Toothpicks are an excelent nail art tool. You can use them to make dots, stripes, little designs, hearts, whatever.

 Ok, I must admin, this design is majorly creepy. So much so that I absolutely love it for Halloween!

 This cobweb nail art looks complicated, but it isn't. Simply paint your nails orange. Paint black tips. Then dip a toothpick into black fingernail polish to paint out the webbing. Voila.

Too Cool Nail Art Designs!

A super cute collection of nail art. I see a few in here that I definitely want to try out on my own nails in the coming weeks. Do you have any favorites from this photo?

 A super cute metallic print nail art. Paint your nails black, and then dip a toothpick into brightly colored metallic nail polish and swipe randomly over your nails.

 This nail polish looks like it's 3d art! To get the same effect drip nail polish from the brush onto your nails in droplets. Be careful not to bump your nails until they are completely dry otherwise you will have to start over.

 I have to say that this is one of my favorite nail art designs. Super Mario 3 was one of my all time favorite games when I was a child. I wonder how long this nail art took to create!

 This is a super simple look to pull off. Paint your nails brown, then paint the tips pink. Use black for the cheetah print by making half circles with the brush. Finish with a strip of metallic brown. 

 If you are the type of person that is hesitant to glue studs to your nails, you can achieve the same affect here by dropping tiny drops of nailpolish with a toothpick into the desired location.

 This nail art must have taken ages to put together. But its absolutely stunning! It reminds me of my little pony.

 Aztek prints seem to be all the rage at this point in time. The gal in this photo nailed it! Literally.

 This cute hello kitty nails are adorbs! What are some of your favorite character nail art?

 Colorblocking is another hot trend this season for nails, and pretty easy too.

 To pull off this look paint three thick stripes horizontally down your nails. Paint small circles with yellow polish, and then finish the cheetah print by painting half circles around the yellow circles with black nail polish.

Stiletto Nails are all the rage it seems like. Almost every female celebrity is sporting them. If you are one of the many people asking what are stiletto nails then you arent alone! And I am here to give you the lowdown on the latest fingernail design trend.



Stiletto nails have a signature point at the end of the nail. Also the nails are a bit longer than the standard french manicure. Most of the time when ladies have stiletto nails they have creative and funky nail art designs. Sometimes people take it one step further and attach decals such as metal bits and chains to make the nails stand out.



Daring enough to take the stiletto nail plunge? Your best bet would be to purchase long fake fingernails so you don't damage your own nails. On the plus side, if you hate the stiletto nail look you can always remove them.




To get started, file the tips of your nails into a long point. Then get crazy with nail polish, and create some trendy nail art. Lastly, glue on sequins, metal, small chains or other finger nail decals you have. And voila! Show off those designer nails to your friends and don't forget to pin then on pinterest!
